Hi everyone! Wow, the support just keeps coming! I have been really busy coordinating and emailing and just trying to get the word out about this great thing we are going to do. For y’all that aren’t familiar, we are making 5 memory quilts for each of the families of the fallen Dallas PD officers.
So, here is a little update! We have had some amazing donations so far! $400! We still need a little more for supplies and shipping, so if you can donate please check out our go fund me here.
The amazing Fat Quarter Shop was so gracious, and donated a wonderful coupon for us! That really helps us so much, as we all know how expensive yards and yards of fabric can add up for such a huge project. Plus, they have the best fabric selection, their customer service ROCKS and they always have great projects posting up all the time!
On to the fun details. I chose Riley Blake’s Parade On Main for the main block pieces, which will make up the state of Texas. The Forever Texas Pattern is a super fun looking pattern. It looks kind of complicated, but it’s just really half square triangles! Super easy! Corinne Sovey was ever so gracious to donate the pattern to us as well!
For the “neutral” part of the quilt, I chose a soft creamy Essex Linen in Light Blue. It will look so beautiful with the patriotic Parade on Main bundles. For the backing, I decided to spice it up a little, using some star printed fabric. For the large quilt for the department itself, I chose a large print star. For the smaller quilts, I went with the super cute Print Shop Black Starry Print. Sorry but that link will take you to the just as beautiful Sea Glass, but seeing as I bought the FQS’s last bits of yardage, the photo is MIA 😉
So, we still are looking for binding and backing, but I just wanted to share with you all that we are moving along, and these are going to look amazing! Thanks for reading and thanks for the support!
